Miranda Chair in Transnational Financial Law

The Catholic Global School of Law and the law firm of Miranda, Correia, Amendoeira & Associates have established, by protocol, the Miranda Chair in Transnational Financial Law. One of the foremost international legal jurists has been appointed as the resident Chair: Prof. Dr. Jan Dalhuisen.

The objective of this Chair aims at the development of teaching and research excellence, with an international character and innovative profile, primarily in the area of Transnational Financial Law. The Catholic Global School of Law has thus established a permanent collaboration with this internationally renowned professor, who teaches subjects of great innovation, contributing to enriching the curriculum and teaching programs of the international post-graduate Faculty, particularly in the LL.M. courses and Masters programs taught in the English language. Prof. Dalhuisen also collaborates in the direction of research.

The establishment of this Chair, the first in Portugal, is a decisive step towards the creation, at the Catholic University, of a center of international educational excellence in research and law.

Prof. Dalhuisen, until now Professor at King's College London and University of California, Berkeley, will reinforce the resident faculty of the international post-graduate programs of the Catholic Global School of Law for a period of three years.
